Blue Pansy Butterfly (Junonia orithya )






Those photos above were taken in Bengkulu Indonesia. The blue pansy butterfly (Junonia orithya) is from the genus of Junonia and family of Nymphalidae. The characteristic of this butterfly is the existance 2 colorful ocelli at the upper side of fore wing, and two at hind wing. The color of ocelli are blue and grey at the center, surrounded by orange inner circle and black outer circle. There are two orange patern surrounded by black marking at the fore wing, white costal and discal. At the hind wing is dominate by greyish blue or blue color from the base, and three black line at the margin. At the outer margin, it is bordered with cilia. The undersides color are a pale brown, with paterned brown line and five ocelli.
