Tiger Moth (Amata nigriceps)




The photos of tiny flying insect  above were taken in Bengkulu Sumatra Indonesia. This moth has the black hairy thorax, orange head with black eyes. Its wings are black with white spots, the hind wing is much smaller than fore wing and hidden below it. It has black and orange bands at the abdomen. The overall length of the body is less than 10mm. The antennae is black with white color at the top.The descriptions above really resemble to the Tiger moth (Amata nigriceps) except  that the white spots of the wings are transparent for Amata nigriceps.
