The Banded Swallowtail Butterfly (Papilio demolion)

This photo was taken in Bengkulu Sumatra Indonesia. This butterfly is called The Banded Swallowtail Butterfly (Papilio demolion). This butterfly has brownish black color at the upperside of wings. Fore and hind wings crossed by a broad prominent oblique pale greenish band that commences just before the middle of the dorsal margin of the hind wing, crosses over on to the fore wing and is continued as a series of spots that diminish in size in the upper interspaces to the apex of that wing. On the hind wing there is a subterminal series of similarly-coloured lunules before the swallowtail-like end for hindwing. This butterfly is from the family of Papilionidae under genus of Papilio.
