Beautiful Metallic Green Shield-backed Bug (Chrysocoris stolli) in Sumatra Indonesia

Those photos above were taken in Bengkulu Sumatra Indonesia. This beautiful metallic shield bug (Chrysocoris stolli) is also known as jewel bug. It is from the family of Scutelleridae from genus of Chrysocoris . It is really interesting that the information source of this beautiful insect is hard to find and quite confusing. Another species that resemble to this bug is Calliphara excellens. This bug has the metallic green color all over its body, with some black spot at the upper side of its body. The size is about 15mm to 18mm. When i saw it, the background color of this bug is green. It amazed me that i could not capture the photo of all that green color as my eyes saw it. I don't know, why in every angle i shoot, the color at the focus is turning to yellow (could anyone explain this?). So, what you see at the above photos, is different from what i really saw on site. But the beauty that it poses on site is not much different to the beauty what you see on those photos. And that is why they call it the jewel bug.
