Orange Robberfly in Sumatera Indonesia


This photo was taken in Bengkulu Sumatra Indonesia. This robberfly is from the family of Asilidae. The size is quite large (about 40 to 50mm). It has orange color of body and legs, and black at the ovipositor.This robberfly absolutely a predator, even the looks of this flying insect resemble to dragonfly, it is the predator to dragonfly.
