Brown Conehead Katydid (Euconocephalus sp.) Sumatra Indonesia

Those photos above were taken in Bengkulu Sumatra Indonesia. This brown conehead katydid has the body length of 35mm and overall length of 60mm. The color is brown all over the body. The wings extend beyond abdomen. Its head resemble a cone with sharp rounded cone point. This brown conehead katydid is from the family of Tettigoniidae undergenus of Euconocephalus.



 This insect also resemble to the Everglades conehead (Neoconocephalus pahayokee) found in Florida, USA. The name of  H.H. Karny is creditted for the introduction of this system of genus naming.
