Palpada sp., Sumatra Indonesia


Photos in this post were taken in Bengkulu Sumatra Indonesia. This fly is from the family of Syrphidae under genus of Palpada.


When i took those photos above, i tought it was just a small bee. I just realized that this one must be not a bee. This if a fly with the appearance looks like a bee. It has black color with some yellow bandes on its upper side of thorax and abdomen. There is a white color behind the compound eyes near the thorax base. The wings are transparrent with brown color near the costa.  The body size about 8mm. The appearance of this bee resemble to its long distance member of genus  Palpada spotted in America.
