White Brown Wing Owlet Moth (Asota plana), Sumatra Indonesia

Photos in this post were taken in Bengkulu Sumatra Indonesia. This owlet moth is Asota plana. It is from the family of Noctuidae under genus of Asota. Its appearance resembles to its cousin - Asota caricae, except for the color pattern of the wing.



This moth has hairy yellow color of head and thorax with some black marks.  The upperside of wings is  brown with big white marks from the base to discal. The under side of the abdomen is hary in yellow color with small black mark at each abdominal segment. The wing span is about 70mm.
