Penthicodes atomaria, Sumatra Indonesia


Photos in this post were taken in Bengkulu Sumatra Indonesia. This planthopper is from the family: Fulgoridae under genus of Penthicodes . The species name for this planthopper is Penthicodes atomaria (Weber, 1801).


This planthopper has yellow color at the upper side of head and brown color at the front. The pronotum is yellow with some small white spots. The eyes are  yellow  with black spot at the center.  The scutellum is brown, the background color of fore wings are white form the base and broad brown color border at the marginal. At each fore wing, there four prominent black spots where two of them located at the costa. The abdomen is red, with some white spots at the side of the abdomen. The wing span is approximated about 50mm.
