Tessaratoma sp Nymph, Sumatra Indonesia


This photo was taken in Bengkulu Sumatra Indonesia. This is a tessaratomid in nymph form. This nymph has orange color at the upperside of its thorax and abdomen. There is a white symetrical line across its upperside abdomen and thorax, and several white marks forming two white lines at the left and right side of the symetrical line over its abdomen. There are four orange small bulbs near the symetrical line at the abdomen, possibly it is the stink glands which release stink liquid when threatened. The size of this nymph is about 20mm. This nymph resemble to Tessaratoma papillosa nymph.

This bug is from the family of Tessaratomidae under genus of Tessaratoma
