Marsh Dancer Damselfly (Onychargia atrocyana), Sumatra Indonesia


This photo was taken in Bengkulu Sumatra Indonesia. This damselfly has metallic blue color of body, yellow stripes at the thorax and narrow yellow bands at the abdominal joint segment. The wings are transparrent with small purple patches near the tip of wings. The size is about 50mm long. It is from the family of Coenagrionidae under genus of Onychargia. The scientific name for this species is Onychargia atrocyana (Selys, 1865).
