Green Planthopper (Siphanta acuta), Sumatra Indonesia


This photo was taken in Bengkulu Sumatra Indonesaia. This green plant hopper is also known as the torpedo bug. It is from the family of flatidae under genus of Siphanta. The scientific name for this species is Siphanta acuta (Walker, 1851).

This bug is a plant-feeding insect. It has green and triangular wings and pointed head. It resembles small leaves. The back edge and corners of their wings are lined with dotted red.The size is about 10mm.
