Fruit Sucking Moth (Spirama Retorta) Sumatra Indonesia


This photos was taken in Bengkulu Sumatra Indonesia. This moth is from the family of Noctuidae under genus of Spirama. The scientific name for this species is Spirama Retorta (Clerck, 1764).The color of the wings are brown, pale white and black with some beautiful line patterns across the wings. It also has two big spiral mark eyes at the forewing resemble to the Chinese Yin Yang symbol.  The wing span is about 70mm.
