Red-tipped Shadefly Damselfly (Argiocnemis rubescens), Sumatra Indonesia



This photo was taken in Bengkulu Sumatra Indonesia. This cute damselfly is from the family of Coenagrionidae under genus ofArgiocnemis. The scientific name for this species is Argiocnemis rubescens(Selys, 1877).

This damselfly can be recognized by the redish orange color of it last abdominal segment. There two blue spots on the head and blue stripes at the thorax. The wings are transparrent and the size is about 40mm.
