Large Green Shield Bug (Pycanum rubens)


Photos in this post were taken in Bengkulu Sumatra Indonesia. This shield bug is from the family of Tessaratomidae under genus of Pycanum. The scientific name for this bug is Pycanum rubens (Fabricius, 1794).



This bug has metallic green color of  head, pronotum and sculletum. Near the edge of abdomen, it has yellow and black stripes.  This is kind of large stink bug. The size without antennae is about 30mm long. The nymph of this bug, is dominated with orange color.
